Position Description:

The Flagger will be responsible for maintaining public and worker safety at construction sites. The role includes directing traffic safely through work zones, warning workers of potential hazards, and helping inform drivers of detour routes. This position plays a critical role in protecting both construction crews and the public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warn workers of vehicles that fail to heed traffic signals
  • Inform and direct drivers through detour routes
  • Use signaling devices to control traffic safely
  • Maintain high alertness and awareness at construction sites
  • Wear proper safety equipment at all times
  • Identify and react to dangerous traffic situations to prevent injury
  • Stand for extended periods in various weather conditions
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Clean driving record
  • Experience with manual labor preferred
  • Ability to move quickly and react to danger
  • Clear and courteous communication of instructions
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Must be reliable and safety-conscious
