Position Description

Licking County Job & Family Services is seeking passionate and dedicated Children Services Ongoing Social Worker in the Protective Services Division to deliver dynamic and intensive case management for families and children in the local community. This position includes meaningful work, an excellent wage and benefit package, OPERS public retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete assessments of families and children to identify dynamics and risks
  • Monitor child safety and well-being through regular follow-up
  • Provide crisis intervention and initiate service plans with short- and long-term goals
  • Deliver counseling and parenting instruction in abuse/neglect cases
  • Work closely with legal and law enforcement agencies
  • Testify in court and perform on-call duties as scheduled

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field
  • Preferred experience in child welfare, mental health, substance abuse, or behavior management
  • Knowledge of local community resources is helpful
  • Must be able to work overtime and on-call as needed
  • Physical fitness to perform duties such as carrying children and climbing stairs
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
