Position Description

The Correctional Officer position is a uniformed, non-sworn role tasked with maintaining a safe and secure environment for both staff and inmates in the Licking County Corrections Facility. This full-service, 24-hour facility is seeking reliable individuals to join its team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct security checks and inmate headcounts
  • Supervise inmate activities and ensure safety protocols are followed
  • Process inmate intake and release
  • Distribute meals and maintain order during meal times
  • Submit incident and operational reports as required
  • Carry out additional tasks assigned within the jail environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • U.S. citizen
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license

Additional Requirements:

  • Must complete the Jail Division Field Training Program upon hire
  • Successfully complete the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission Full Service Facility Corrections Officer Basic Training within one year of employment
  • Complete additional certifications as required
