Position Description

The Case Manager is responsible for managing child support cases in line with federal, state, and local regulations. Duties include case tracking, paternity establishment, enforcing child support orders, handling legal processes, testifying in court, and staying up to date with changes in child support policies. The position requires meticulous documentation and effective communication with internal teams and external parties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and enforce child support cases, including locating absent parents, establishing paternity, and tracking compliance
  • Maintain accurate case records and respond to legal and procedural updates
  • Prepare and generate required forms, notices, and correspondence
  • Investigate and recommend enforcement actions such as license suspension or liens
  • Represent the agency in court when necessary
  • Refer appropriate cases for legal action and monitor their status
  • May perform DNA testing and be required to hold a notary certification

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience in a related field

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent customer service, communication, and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and proficiency in computer use (including word processing)
  • Experience in social services, child support, and family/domestic relations law is a plus
