Position Description:
Licking County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a dedicated Nurse (LPN or RN) to join the correctional health care team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assessing and addressing the medical needs of inmates, collaborating with physicians, and maintaining high standards of care in a secure facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer injections and medications while maintaining appropriate documentation
- Carry out physician-ordered treatments and draw blood samples
- Maintain accurate and updated inmate medical records
- Order medications and manage medical supply inventory
- Coordinate medical appointments for inmates
- Work with kitchen staff to arrange special dietary needs
- Perform medical screenings and assess inmate health complaints
- Present cases requiring advanced care to medical professionals
- Handle additional duties as assigned by supervisors
Minimum Qualifications:
- LPN Candidates:
- Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program
- At least 6 months of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- RN Candidates:
- Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or technical school
- At least 6 months of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
