Position Description:
Licking County SWCD is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to serve as Stormwater Educator / Outreach Coordinator. This individual will lead community education and engagement efforts related to stormwater management and water resource protection across Licking County. The position involves collaboration with schools, government agencies, and the public to promote environmental awareness and sustainable stormwater practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement stormwater education and environmental outreach programs for schools, municipalities, and community groups
- Lead efforts to raise awareness about water quality, pollution prevention, and conservation
- Provide technical guidance and training on stormwater best management practices (BMPs)
- Coordinate workshops, public events, and educational campaigns
- Develop and distribute outreach materials such as brochures, social media content, newsletters, and presentations
- Monitor stormwater projects and ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Act as a liaison between SWCD, local governments, and other stakeholders to advance stormwater initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree (or higher) in communications, marketing, environmental studies, natural resources management, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered
- Strong verbal communication and public speaking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, and familiarity with Google Mail, Calendar, and Drive
- Experience organizing events and managing outreach or educational programs
- Excellent writing and content development abilities
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to transport equipment and navigate uneven outdoor terrain
