Position Description:

The Floor Technician is responsible for performing janitorial and facility maintenance services across Licking County buildings. Key duties include stripping and waxing floors, general cleaning, maintaining restrooms and meeting rooms, and supporting inventory and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform floor care including stripping and waxing
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and shampoo carpets
  • Clean restrooms, replace supplies, clean windows and glass surfaces
  • Wash trash bins, collect recycling, clean walls, blinds, fixtures, and drinking fountains
  • Maintain and clean meeting rooms
  • Complete assigned special cleaning projects
  • Monitor and report on cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Remove litter from building entrances
  • Report any building or equipment maintenance needs
  • Follow all job safety requirements and PERRP safety standards
  • Attend seminars or training as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1–2 years of related experience or equivalent combination
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License
  • Experience with floor stripping and waxing equipment required
  • Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Ability to drive ¾ ton 4×4 truck and back a 20-ft trailer
  • Able to work in all weather conditions
  • Capable of lifting up to 50+ pounds
  • Strong ability to work independently and meet physical demands of the role
  • Availability for a flexible schedule, including possible Saturdays
